Here are the additions to the previous posts on the subject:
- The underlying OS is being upgraded to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5 from version 4.5 in Call Manager 8.5 .
- The datasheets are clarifying the third party servers support topic in and outside of a VMware environment. In version 8.5 HP and IBM are supported on a non virtualized server (just like it always was) and in 8.6 IBM and HP are supported on a virtualized platform. In the past the virtualized server support was related to version 8.5 but it looks like the official answer is 8.6.
- The supported users per server ratio has increased, along with other scalability related topics:• Up to 10,000 users per server pair.• Up to 10,000 CTI-enabled users per server pair.• Increased TFTP scalability.• Directory scale enhancements ~ 160,000 users.
